Bieber-as-Robin fans, “Never Say Never!”
Though his role as Robin in Batman Vs. Superman has fallen through, New Comics Day has broken the story of another Bieber/DC contract!
A 14 year old girl with DC connections informed us that starting in 2014, Biebs will draw Batman for a 6-issue stint with veteran writer Gail Simone. The story is said to be a groundbreaking reexamination of Batman’s relationship with the Joker, and will feature Bat-family mainstays and villains such as Robin, Catwoman, Two-Face, Scarecrow, Clayface and Bane.
“I’m so proud to be working with a talent like Justin,” said Simone when asked to comment. “His pages are packed with maturity and excitement that outstrip his modest experience. Justin’s attitude has been humble and professional and I’m just so happy to work with such a great guy.”
“Justin Bieber is a consummate professional of the highest order,” said publisher Dan Didio. ”He has everything I want in a DC employee and I’m confident that he has the chops to someday be a great comics editor somewhere if he stays his current course.”
Bieber still has more irons in the fire, as his creator-owned project Swaggy is poised to hit from IDW after his Batman run. Swaggy features the adventures of a tough-talking mouse kicking ass and taking names in the music industry, and will be written by Bieber and Peter David with art by Bieber and Chap Yaep.
Bieber was unavailable for comment, as he was busy mooning and spitting on an audience of his fans while smoking and dangling his pet monkey off a balcony while totally cheating on Selena Gomez again.
