Though born of a mentality that comic books should be preserved and respected, several comic book scanning groups have united in disgust for AvX VS.
Originally pitched to fans as a brainless battle comic that would expand upon a variety of battles that might otherwise be overlooked in the 12 part Avengers vs. X-Men miniseries and its tie-ins with Avengers Academy, Wolverine and the X-Men, Secret Avengers, New Avengers, Avengers, Uncanny X-Men, X-Men Legacy and Amethyst: Princess of Gemworld, the series was actually far worse than anticipated.
Some believe that Marvel’s current trend of “writing for the Omnibus”, an evolution of the storytelling decompression pioneered by “writing for the trade” is ultimately responsible for what many critics are calling the worst comic book story since 2011′s anti-planking PSA featuring Spider-Man and the New Avengers, flanked by the US Army, successfully combating today’s youth and their constant influx of stupid memes.
Several pirates, going by such colorful names as Meganubis, Scandog, Rich Johnston, and Zone, have issued public apologies for their part in sharing the horror and are pleading that all downloads of AvX, regardless of scanner, should be immediately deleted.
Non-digital copies of books in this series are known to exist, however the impending death of all print media will ensure that no further readers are harmed according to some experts. “All our sciences would suggest that whatever virus or predator is currently ravaging print media, will eventually succeed and turn on previously printed materials” said Bernard Futrell, who is one of three Twitter users that have teamed up to crowdsource a solution for print death.
